The ArcelorMittal Tubular Products (AMTP) Process Engineer reporting to the Manager of Transformation & Continuous Improvement is responsible to identify and evaluate the latest practical technology and methodology applicable to increase process capability, upgrade of product quality, and reduction of overall processing costs. The Company will require the Process Engineer to develop statistical methods and other effective diagnostic techniques to resolve problems and advance process capabilities in such related areas as raw material performance, product characteristics, new equipment selection, and existing equipment modifications.
MAIN TASKS
REQUIREMENTS

Interact and coordinate with all applicable personnel in the design of any process change.

Investigate and recommend state-of-the-art technology to improve process cost and quality.

Provide technical direction in the implementation of manufacturing process changes.

Serve as the liaison between the Manufacturing Department and the quality and inspection departments on new product specifications and general quality performance.

Serve as a liaison to our suppliers to report statistical control measures and/or quality concerns with their products.

Review & update FMEA and Control Plan processes to promote high level of process stability and quality.
- Bachelor’s degree is required; a major in Mechanical/Welding/Technical Operations/Manufacturing Technology Engineering or other related discipline field is preferred.
- Three (3) to five (5) years related experience is preferred. Experience in a mechanical steel tube industry a definite plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Must have excellent problem identification/definition, group process, computer, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
IMPORTANT DETAILS
Candidate must be available for potential travel, possess the physical ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop and move throughout the plant as needed, sit for long periods of time, perform repetitive movements, occasionally lift up to 30 pounds and possess the ability to hear and speak clearly, in English, in person and over the phone.
