EMPLOYMENT TYPE

The ArcelorMittal Tubular Products (AMTP) Quality Engineer II will serve as the group leader for the Quality Support team, overseeing daily activities and escalating issues to the Quality Support Manager when necessary. This role ensures compliance with the Business Management Plan, ISO 9001, and IATF 16949 standards through leadership in internal auditing, corrective action management, document control, and quality assurance procedures. The position is also responsible for addressing internal and external customer quality issues, developing and maintaining process flow diagrams, control plans, and FMEAs, and ensuring adherence to automotive and customer-specific requirements. Additionally, the Quality Engineer II leads investigations into non-conforming products, drives corrective actions, supports PPAP activities, and represents the company during customer visits related to quality concerns.

  • Schedule, conduct, and analyze the Business Management System’s internal process and quality systems audits for all manufacturing and support processes required by IATF and ISO standards, Create, Evaluate, and Audit corrective actions that result from audits
  • Interface with all levels of personnel to fully trail any finding to the standard requirement.
  • Distribute instruction and guidance to the appropriate personnel.
  • Update and revise the Quality Management portion of the Business System to maintain its compliance with ISO 9001 and AITF 16949.
  • Maintain Database related to Document Control; and Internal Audits related to maintain ISO 9001/ IATF 16949 certifications.
  • Make procedural changes to Work Instructions and other ISO/AITF documents (plant wide changes and when requested).
  • Lead role with automotive requirements and customer specific requirements as they relate to the quality system. This includes conducting PPAP, read-across, problem solving, etc.
  • Investigate and take a lead role in correcting problems causing non-conforming product.
  • Utilize internal and external rejection data to produce reports that provide the necessary feedback to access and improve our quality management system.
  • Manage weekly and monthly reports to provide timely quality performance results to management (Balance Scorecard KPI goals information).
  • Lead role in creating and managing Process Flow diagrams and control plans.
  • Team member of the FMEA team.
  • Provides technical input to team from a quality systems viewpoint.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical Field or Business Management combined with related experience a minimum.
  • Certified training for ISO 9001 / TS 16949 Certified Internal Auditor Automotive core tool training Certified training to IATF 16949 a plus.
  • Operate and manage databases using COGNOS and Microsoft Office software.
  • Have completed ISO/TS Training and able to understand the terminology, auditing methods, perform internal audits, along with being able to make recommended corrective and/or preventive findings.
  • Have basic understanding of Failure Mode Evaluation Analyses; Risk Assessments; and Problem Solving.
  • Familiarity with the tube making process a plus.
  • ISO/TS Quality Standards: AIAG certified for Auditing of Quality Systems; Problem Solving.
  • 2 plus years of working in an operational environment.
  • Tube making with emphasis and knowledge of the process.
  • Knowledge of Non-destructive test methods a plus

Candidate must be available for potential travel, possess the physical ability to climb stairs, bend, stoop and move throughout the plant as needed, sit for long periods of time, perform repetitive movements, occasionally lift up to 30 pounds and possess the ability to hear and speak clearly, in English, in person and over the phone.
